A seller’s market?!?!?!?  Believe it or not, thanks to the first time home buyer tax credit, it is!

All the different CT Realtors® selling real estate all through out Central CT, that I’ve come in contact with over the last few months all have had the same stories, out showing properties all hours of the day, being in multiple offer situations, homes selling for over asking and clients losing out on a house because they took a day to think about it.  At first I started wondering if I was asleep and dreaming that I was back in the 2003-2004 housing market.  Then it hit me, it wasn’t a dream, it is a reality and we actually have the government to thank!  The first time home buyer tax is phenomenal!

Currently the tax credit is set to expire on November 30, 2009.  We can only hope the government extends the tax credit into 2010.  For those of you who already own homes and think the First time home buyer credit doesn’t affect you, you’re wrong.  As the housing market sales increase, so do the prices, which ultimately helps everyone!
